What an idiot. How convenient that Cheney apparently was in his "secure, undisclosed location" when the bombs went off. Probably giving the green light to launch.

The storyline is hollow, and sloppy in details.

Newsom doesn't live in the Pacific Heights area anymore. Further, if he was there when even a 3Kt weapon airburst over the Financial District, all his windows would have been blown out, the building would have shook, with parts of it likely falling off, and he'd likely be on his back on the floor. He wouldn't be leaving the City on the ground, either...no way in Hell he'd get to the Golden Gate after something like that.

A more likely scenario involves driving the bombs across the border, and letting them off in the cities, Jericho-style. It would require much less coordination and much less financial resources (just the bombs and a few thousands for travel expenses).

granted the story was flawed..... but I will never believe flight 800 came down, (off of Long Island NY) from mechanical failure. Without a doubt the USA is hated and hated hard by peoples without and within our borders. This all brings back to me, George Washington's vision. Interesting read.

Uranium prospectors can spot a little rock with 0.1 % unenriched uranium in it from a thousand feet in the air just from it's gamma radiation. Ten pounds of 90% U235 or a simular amount of plutonium would be spottable with advanced military equipment far underground or behind a vast amount of lead from a long long distance away. That means that any truck bomb or backpack type nuclear attack on the USA would have to be an inside job.
